Supporting Lives, Nurturing Pets, Fostering Recovery
Build Unleashed Hope Haven with us!
Unleashed Hope Haven will give pets a safe, temporary place to stay while their people are stabilizing through crisis, treatment, housing insecurity, medical hardship, or domestic violence.
Our goal is to raise $59,600 to secure the property, kennels, equipment, and first year of rent needed to make this happen.
Every donation helps us protect the bond between people and their pets when life becomes uncertain.

Bean
On May 14, 2026, Bean entered Unleashed Hope care because her dad was making one of the hardest and bravest choices a person can make: entering treatment to rebuild his life. Bean became one of the first reminders of why Unleashed Hope exists. When Bean arrived, she needed stability, structure, and a safe place to land while her owner focused on recovery. Since entering foster care, she has been spayed, microchipped, licensed, brought up to date on veterinary care, and has been learning the routines of home life. She has mastered kennel training, is building her manners every day, and is learning obedience skills like touch and leash walking. Beneath her big body and goofy personality is a dog who simply loves people and is learning what safety feels like. But this story was never just about Bean. It's about a father fighting for recovery. It's about a dog waiting faithfully for her person. And it's about a community choosing to stand in the gap so that healing doesn't come at the cost of losing family. As one of Unleashed Hope's first cases, Bean represents the future we are working toward: a community where no one has to choose between getting help and keeping the pets they love. Her dad is working hard in treatment. Bean is working hard in foster care. And every day brings them one step closer to reunion. This is the first of many stories of hope. 🐾

Follow Our Story
At Unleashed Hope, we believe that healing happens in relationship. And for millions of people, some of the most important relationships in their lives are with animals. The human-animal bond is more than companionship—it is connection. And connection is essential to healing. Research has consistently shown that the bond between people and animals can improve emotional well-being, reduce feelings of loneliness, increase social support, and help people cope during times of stress and crisis. Studies have found that companion animals can serve as sources of comfort, routine, purpose, and resilience—especially for individuals experiencing hardship. According to the Human Animal Bond Research Institute, 80% of pet owners report that their pets help them feel less lonely. Additionally, 85% of people believe interaction with companion animals can help reduce loneliness, and 76% believe animals can help address social isolation. For individuals facing addiction, homelessness, domestic violence, medical crises, or mental health challenges, these relationships can be lifesaving. Research examining people experiencing crisis has found that pets provide emotional support, companionship, a sense of identity, and motivation for recovery. Many individuals report delaying treatment, housing, or safety services because they fear losing their pets. This is particularly true for survivors of domestic violence. Studies have found that concern for pets can be a significant barrier to leaving abusive situations, with estimates suggesting that 20–48% of survivors delay leaving out of concern for their animals' safety. At Unleashed Hope, we believe no one should have to choose between healing and family—because pets are family. Our mission is to preserve the human-animal bond during times of crisis by providing temporary foster care, resources, and support for individuals seeking treatment, housing, safety, or medical care. This mission is deeply personal. Our founder, Sadie Beshears, knows firsthand the healing power of animals. Through seasons of loss, instability, and rebuilding, dogs remained a constant source of connection, safety, and hope. Years spent working in animal behavior and community support revealed a painful truth: too many people are forced to choose between getting help and keeping the animals they love. Unleashed Hope was created to change that. Because when we protect the bond between people and their pets, we create space for healing. And healing changes lives. We envision a future where communities recognize that supporting people sometimes begins by supporting the animals they love—because connection is vital to healing, and for many, healing has four legs.
